Koo Jun-Yup

Koo Jun-yup (Korean: 구준엽; born September 11, 1969), also known as DJ Koo, is a pioneering figure in South Korea's entertainment industry. Renowned as a singer, DJ, music producer, dancer, and songwriter, he rose to prominence as one half of the legendary K-pop duo CLON, which debuted in 1996. The duo became a sensation in Korea and abroad, especially in Taiwan, cementing their status as first-generation Hallyu stars. Known for their high-energy performances and iconic hits like "Kungtari Shabara," CLON set a foundation for modern K-pop's global expansion. Beyond his work with CLON, DJ Koo has made a name for himself in the electronic music scene as one of Korea's most celebrated DJs. He has performed at prestigious events like the Ultra Music Festival, Ultra Korea, and World DJ Festival, showcasing his talent on a global stage. His solo discography includes a full-length album, KooJunYup (2003), and multiple EPs such as I’m DJ Koo (2008) and Best Night of My Life (2015), blending K-pop and electronic sounds. In addition to producing hit tracks for major artists, including Ailee and IU, Koo has contributed to international collaborations.
