Founded in 2004 by Benjamin Perrot and Florence Bolton , La Rêveuse (The Dreamer) is an ensemble consisting of musicians who recreate music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Their recordings have been critically acclaimed by journalists in France and internationally. The ensemble often works with the world of theater and literature, in order to rediscover classic texts. La Rêveuse has developed a cycle of conference-concerts reflecting music and painting in the 17th and 18th centuries , intended for museums and media libraries. They are also involved with educational projects with primary and high school classes. Their catalog of releases include The Theater Of Musick - Musique Pour Les Théâtres Londoniens (2006), Sonatas – Hortus Musicus (2008), Ayers (2012), Devotional Songs & Anthems (2015), and London Circa 1700 (Purcell & His Generation) (2018). In 2017, La Rêveuse received the gold medal from the Académie Arts-Sciences-Lettres for all of their work. In 2018, they were awarded the European Year of Cultural Heritage label awarded by the Ministry of Culture.
