La Santa Grifa, a hardcore rap group from Tampico, Tamaulipas, formed in 2013 with original members Yusak, Reghoz, and Centavo. Their gritty and unapologetic style quickly gained attention, with their breakout track "Seguiré Fumando" becoming an underground hit. Following internal conflicts, the group rebranded as Santa Grifa and welcomed new members Waza, Tolderck, Miky, and Bany. In April 2015, they dropped Santos Grifos Vol. 1, which solidified their presence in Mexico's hip-hop scene. The group faced tragedy in July 2015 when Tolderck was reported missing, and they honored him with the song "Un Santo Grifo Nunca Muere." Over the next few years, they continued releasing music with albums like Hasta Donde Se Pueda in 2016 and El Mal Ejemplo in 2017. Despite facing legal controversies—later proven false—La Santa Grifa maintained their momentum, building a loyal fanbase through raw lyrics that reflect street life, drugs, and hardship, often delivered with fast flows and dark, brooding beats. By the 2020s, Yusak was the sole member of the group, releasing the albums Fuera de Órbita (2022) and Frenia (2023)
