Leah Kate

Riding the wave of second-gen pop-punk à la Olivia Rodrigo, Machine Gun Kelly, GAYLE at al, Leah Kate (born September 9, 1995 in California) came crashing onto the scene in 2019 with her debut self-released EP, Impulse. The US singer-songwriter had begun her career posting cover songs on YouTube in 2018 and following the release of Impulse, found viral fame on TikTok with 2020's "Fuck the Friendship." A string of singles followed in its wake, including "Grave" in 2020 and "Boyfriend" and "Boy Next Door" in 2021. Her second EP, What Just Happened?, arrived in 2021, yielding singles including "F U Anthem" and "Shit Show," before in March 2022 she hit the highs of viral TikTok fame with "Dear Denny." She took the '90s influence further on her 2022 breakthrough single, the fiery kiss-off "10 Things I Hate About You," and ended up charting in the UK and Australia.
