LØREN

LØREN is the stage name of Lee Seung-joo, a South Korean musician whose genre-bending version of alternative rock makes room for a wide spread of influences. He was born in South Korea on January 10, 1995, but moved at a young age to Singapore, where he discovered MTV and fell in love with the punk-pop bands and indie rock musicians he saw on the channel's broadcasts. By 13 years old, he was playing electric guitar at home and leading the school jazz band while in class. Several years after his high school graduation, he was recruited by The Black Label to work as a producer, contributing to tracks like GD's Top 10 hit "개소리 (BULLSHIT)" along the way. He also worked as a lyricist and co-writer for Blackpink's The Album, which became the best-selling album by a female group in South Korean history at the time of its 2020 release. Boosted by that success, LØREN began releasing his own songs in 2020, starting with "Empty Trash." The song was followed by stand-alone singles like "Need (ooo-eee)" and "All My Friends Are Turning Blue," all of which were written, performed, and produced by LØREN. Put Up a Fight, his debut EP, followed in 2023, accompanied by the lead single "Folks."
