Previously a Space Craft Entertainment artist, Makoto Furukawa went freelance in 2018. Born on September 29, 1989, in Kumamoto Prefecture, he has had a prolific career as a voice artist, appearing in many TV anime shows including voicing the main character Saitama in One Punch Man (2015) and the character Bann Tada in Golden Time (2013). He has played characters in anime films and video games. Makoto Furukawa has hosted several radio shows, including on GOLDEN TIME (2013), One Punch Man Justice Enforcement! on Maji Radio! (2015), Makoto Furukawa No Orange Futari (2016), Everything Hero! Let's Get Ready (2016) and also a show on Fate/Apocrypha (2017). He first became interested in the Japanese voice acting industry as a child and enrolled at Fukuoka's Music Vocational School. As a singer, he has performed with several groups including Café Parade and Soara, and also performed as a solo artist releasing the single "Miserable Masquerade" on the Lantis label in 2018. This reached number 9 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. It was followed by "Buzzer Beater" and "地図が無くても戻るから (Chizu ga Nakute mo Madorukara)," also in 2019, the latter of which features on the soundtrack for One Punch Man. Over the following years, he portrayed Sherlock Holmes in the anime series MORIARTY THE PATRIOT (2020) and The Tale of the Outcasts (2023). In 2024, the popular seiyuu returned with his seventh CD single "Kaleidoscope," cracking the Top 10 of the Oricon Top 50.
