French-Canadian pop singer Marilou scored a Number 1 hit at the age of 12, recording a duet with Canadian singer Gino Quilico called "Je Serai Là Pour Toi" that led to a deal with Sony Music Canada and Sony Music France. Born Marilou Bourdon on September 20, 1990 in Longueuil, Quebec, Bourdon had been propelled into the spotlight the previous year after appearing on Quebec's television talent show Stars à Domicile. Her first single, a French version of "There For Me", covered by Sarah Brightman in a duet with José Cura, helped to bring in more TV work for Bourdon and in 2004 she was signed to Feeling Mgmt, the company owned by Céline Dion and René Angelil with Mario Lefebvre. Bourdon's star continued to ascend with the release of her debut album, La Fille Qui Chante, in 2005, which yielded four Top 10 singles, including chart-toppers "Chante" and "Tu Es Comme Ca". Her self-titled pop-rock sophomore album came in 2006, generating chart-toppers "Danser Sur La Lune", "Emmene-Moi" and "Un Monde En Amour". Graduating to songwriting for 2012's 60 Thoughts a Minute, Bourdon flexed her co-writing talents on 13 songs, before releasing Au Milieu de Mon écart the following year. In October 2015, she turned her focus to authoring chef/cookbooks along with her partner Alexandre Champagne. She made a musical comeback in 2020 with the single "Rose Pâle".
