Mocci

Born on June 23, 1991 in the northern Moroccan town of Larache, Mohamed Aalit didn't really get into music until 2018. By posting his first track "Mli Nmchi" (2018) on YouTube, he made his project official under the name Mocci. Influenced by both rap and Afrobeat aesthetics, it was only a few years later that his fame really exploded. When "Quoltalek" was released in 2020, the public immediately grabbed hold of the composition, making it a hit with several million listens. On a production by Ransom Beatz close to Nigerian afropop, Mocci's seductive flow established him as one of the big names in Moroccan rap. Above all, he is one of the rare artists on the scene to hail from a small town, a notable achievement in Morocco's hard-to-reach music industry. Mocci signed a Spanish version of his hit and then took advantage of his new status to work on more advanced projects. In 2021, he released his first EP, Love Yourself First, on which, in four tracks, the Moroccan rapper returned to the traditional codes of trap. On Tiempo, a new EP released the following year in 2022, Mocci takes a more pop approach, returning to the ingredients that made his first popular success.
