Mono Inc. were founded in Hamburg at the turn of the millennium by Martin Engler, Miky Mono and Carl Fornia. The alternative dark rock project, which had already been producing music under the name Mono 69 from 1998 to 2000, welcomed Manuel Antoni as an additional member in 2003 and released its debut LP Head Under Water just one year later. in 2006, Katha Mia joined the group as the new drummer, which in turn led to the release of Mono Inc.'s second album, Temple of the Torn, just one year later. The band celebrated their first commercial success in 2011 with their fifth studio album Viva Hades, which entered the album charts in Germany at number 50. The two successors After the War (2012) and Nimmermehr (2013) were the band's first top 10 albums. Mono Inc., who are increasingly being compared to industry giants such as Linkin Park or The Sisters of Mercy, also venture stylistic excursions into heavy metal and, in some cases, pop music in the course of their work. Terlingua, released in 2015, marks a further change of style in the career of Mono Inc., who are now also taking on softer sounds. However, this does not detract from their success. The LP reached number 6 on the German album hit list. The group, in which Fornia has also been on the microphone since the death of vocalist Mono (2010), released the live album Mono Inc - Live in 2016. This is followed by Together Till the End (2017), which, in addition to reaching 6th place in the German charts, also enters the Swiss charts for the first time (92nd place). After Welcome to Hell climbed to number 2 in Germany in 2018, Engler and Co. achieved their biggest coup to date in 2020: The Book of Fire, which not only won over Swiss fans (31st place), catapulted to the top of the charts in Germany. Another number 1 album followed in 2023 with Ravenblack, followed by the live album Symphonic Live - The Second Chapter in August 2024. The album reaches number 5 in Germany.
