Founded in 2011, Ocean Alley is an Australian alt-rock band from the Northern Beaches of New South Wales, Australia, formed by Baden Donegal (vocals, guitar), Angus Goodwin (lead guitar), Lach Galbraith (keyboard, vocals), Mitch Galbraith (guitar), Nic Blom (bass) and Tom O'Brien (drums). Originally starting as a garage band, the group began to attract popularity by playing small gigs throughout Sydney, releasing their debut EP Yellow Mellow in September 2013. Touring the country from 2014-2015, the band released their second EP In Purple in 2015, including popular singles “Space Goat” and “Muddy Water”, followed by their debut studio album Lost Tropics, which preceded a successful national and international tour. Releasing “Overgrown” in March 2017, it was the band’s next single “The Comedown” that propelled them into stardom, followed by hit song “Confidence” (2018) peaking at number 9, certified platinum and nominated for Song of the Year at both the 2019 ARIA and APRA Awards. Following this success, the band’s second studio album Chiaroscuro charted at number 15, with the band announcing several headline tours and festival appearances soon after. On January 2019, “Confidence” reached the coveted number 1 position on the Triple J Hottest 100 and in June the group released their third studio album, with the 70’s-inspired Lonely Diamond (2020) peaking at number 3 and earning them a nomination for the single “Way Down” at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards for best single. On October 14, 2022, Ocean Alley released their highly anticipated fourth studio album Low Altitude Living, which also charted at number 3 on the ARIA charts.
