The German singer, actor and presenter Oli P. was born Oliver Alexander Reinhard Petszokat in Berlin on August 10, 1978. The artist began his music career in 1997 and released his debut single "Liebe machen", a cover version of the hip-hop duo Vereinigte Arroganz, in the same year. In September 1998, he landed the number one hit "Flugzeuge im Bauch" with Tina Frank, a cover version of the song by Herbert Grönemeyer. The song climbs to the top of the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The single is the best-selling German-language single to date and is awarded the Echo Pop Prize in 1999. His debut album Mein Tag follows in November of the same year. The album reaches 6th place in Germany and 11th place in Switzerland and Austria. The second album o.Ton is released in the fall of 1999 and again places in the album charts in Germany (14th place), Austria (31st place) and Switzerland (19th place). The single "So bist du" with Naima, a cover version of Peter Maffay's hit of the same name, becomes another number one hit in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Over the course of his career, Oli P. collaborates with artists Sascha Pierro, E Andy, Dekka, Jan van der Toom, Emilia and Lukas. in 2019, his seventh album Alles Gute! is released and reaches 9th place in the German charts. Together with the pop band BeFour, he releases the single "Hand in Hand" for their Christmas album, which reaches the top 10 in Austria and 27th place in Germany. Hey Freiheit - Das Album is released in 2023. The album climbs to number 4 in Germany. In November 2024, Oli P. releases Wunder, his ninth studio album.
