South Korean hip-hop group Play the Siren formed in Seoul in 2014 by Kasper, Squalla, Chi Chi, CJ, Siren, and Beckbum. Known for blending electronic music with hardcore rap, they are often credited with bringing a unique urban sound to the Korean music scene. Before their official debut, they gained some attention by releasing a mixtape on record label Baljunso's video-streaming channel. Their mixtape garnered critical acclaim thanks to their daring, genre-bending aesthetic. Also, Play the Siren member Kasper made some waves with her work as a solo artist, also releasing a mixtape of her own. In 2014, Play the Siren officially debuted with the single album Dream Drive. The album featured a fusion of EDM and R&B sounds alongside the group's distinctive take hip-hop. The title track "Dream Drive" featured a collaboration with Luna of f(x) and became a popular single. Shortly after this, Play the Siren released their first full rap song "Cypher." In 2015, the group returned with the single "Green Light." This release saw a reduced lineup with only three members: Kasper, Siren, and Beckbum. Later, the song "I'll Be There" featured only Siren along with the singer Miel from Bay.b, indicating further changes in the group's lineup. The departure of members CJ, Squalla, Chi Chi, and finally Kasper led to the disbandment of Play the Siren in August 2015.
