Born Kim Won-sik in Seoul on 15 February 1993, the multi-talented rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer known as Ravi rose to fame as a member of South Korean boyband VIXX, who debuted in 2012. He took his first steps as a solo artist five years later, releasing his debut mini-album R.eal1ze, which went to number two on South Korea's GAON chart and also reached number 11 in Taiwan. His second album R.ook Book emerged in 2019, and his new hip-hop label Groovl1n was inaugurated the same year he released his two-volume album Limitless. Paradise, his first album for Warner Music Korea, came in 2020 with Roses following in 2021. That same year, he expanded his remit with new multi-genre label The L1ve and in 2022 released the collaborative album Dessert Tape with Xydo. In April 2023, Ravi was found guilty of violating the Military Service Act and sentenced to two years in prison.
