Born in Xiamen, China, on December 8, 1979, Raymond Lam launched his acting career as a teenager, appearing in a long string of Hong Kong-made films and television shows before breaking into the wider Chinese market with 2011's The Sorcerer and the White Snake. He also began a music career as a popular Cantopop singer in 2007. In addition to performing the theme songs for more than 30 TV programs in which he also starred, Lam released a number of solo albums during the late 2000s and 2010s, including his 2007 debut, Finding Love in Memories, and his double-platinum follow-up, 2008's Your Love. Albums like 2009's Let's Get Wet, 2010's Come 2 Me, 2011's First, 2013's A Time 4 You, and 2016's Trap followed, with Lam often charting in the Top 10 on the Mandarin and Cantonese charts.
