Richard Flash

Real name Richard Kakpo, Beninese singer Richard Flash was born on February 20, 1984 in Agatogbo, Benin. He soon left school and turned to music, starting out as a radio presenter and soundman, but also as a singer in the Zogbo parish youth choir, a springboard before joining the Master Star orchestra as lead singer, which enabled him to envisage a professional future for his musical ambitions. After serving as manager for a number of Beninese artists, he moved to Paris, where he immersed himself in the African music scene, before launching his own solo career with the zouk album Kissto (Je Veux) in 2002. His 2004 album Zé-kèmi (Pardonne-Moi), followed by Kpatagnon (Tout Est Bon ) in 2016, confirmed his place on the Beninese music scene.
