Roland Kaiser (born May 10, 1952 in West Berlin) is a pop singer from Germany. Born Ronald Keiler, he grew up as an orphan with foster parents. In addition to his job at the post office, he tried his hand at singing in pubs and at weddings from the mid-1970s. His talent caught the attention of music producers. his debut single "Was Ist Wohl Aus Ihr Geworden?" was released in 1974. In 1976, Roland Kaiser released his first album, Verde - Frei - Das Heißt Allein. With the single "Frei - Das Heißt Allein", the singer entered the German charts for the first time at number 14. A year later, Roland Kaiser scores his first hit in Germany with "Sieben Fässer Wein", which reaches number 7. Roland Kaiser's breakthrough in Germany came in 1980 with the song "Santa Maria", the original melody by the Italian duo Oliver Onions. The German version reaches number 1 in the German charts. Roland Kaiser also achieved a top 10 hit in Austria (number 3) and Switzerland (number 5). in 1981, his album Dich Zu Lieben becomes a number 1 hit in Germany. After that, things became quieter for the singer. in 1995, Roland Kaiser provided the theme song for the TV series Dr. Stefan Frank - Der Arzt, Dem Die Frauen Vertrauen with "Alles, Was Du Willst". At the beginning of the 2000s, the public learns of the singer's serious lung disease. Roland Kaiser takes a step back, but carries on.
