Bernhard Speer, a film director, and comedian Christoph Seiler joined forces in 2014 to create the Austropop project Seiler und Speer. Their lyrical focus is on witty and ironic descriptions of everyday life, which resulted in their first album, Ham kummst, in 2015. The debut as well as the lead single of the same name, "Ham kummst", climbed to the top of the charts in Austria and achieved platinum status several times over. With the title "I kenn di vo wo" (2016), which made it to number 3 in Austria, the two announced their second album Und weida?, which again climbed to pole position in their home country in 2017. This is followed by chart success in Germany (27th place) and Switzerland (97th place). Seiler and Speer, whose humorous popular songs always have clear rock references, are already among the elite of the current music scene in Austria at this point - as evidenced by their six nominations at the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2016, two of which they were able to convert into wins(Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year). the third album Für immer was released in 2019 - another number 1 hit in Austria. In Germany, the album reached 14th place, while in Switzerland it rose to 56th place compared to its predecessor. Meanwhile, the song "Bonny und Clyde " won the next Golden Record in 2021, after "Herr Inspektor" had won another Amadeus Award in the Song of the Year category a year earlier.
