Shane & Shane are an American contemporary worship music duo from Texas. Led by musicians Shane Barnard and Shane Everett, the group's origins date back to the early aughts when the two were still studying at Texas A&M University. Everett, a Dallas native who had recently converted to Christianism, met Barnard at an on-campus Christian fellowship group and later joined him on stage as a background vocalist during his solo shows. These live performances quickly developed into a full-blown collaborative project that released its first full-length Psalms (2001) under the name Shane & Shane. In the following years, the pair continued to work together on a series of releases for Inpop Records such as Carry Away (2003), Upstairs (2004), Clean (2004), Pages (2007), Glory in the Highest: A Christmas Record (2008), and Everything Is Different (2009). After landing a deal with Fair Trade, Shane & Shane scored their first charting effort with 2011's The One You Need, which peaked at Number 53 on the Billboard 200. The group would put out two more albums for Fair Trade—Bring Your Nothing (2013) and The Worship Initiative (2015)—before founding their own label and cracking the Billboard 200 once again with their tenth album, Psalms II, in 2015. The duo kept up their prolific work ethos in the subsequent years, delivering several volumes of their The Worship Initiative and Hymns series, as well as Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs, Vol. 1 (2022), whose lead single "Living Water" entered the Christian Airplay chart at Number 50.
