Shiori Niiyama

Shiori Niiyama is a Japanese singer-songwriter affiliated with the Being label. She was born on February 10, 1996, in Saitama, Japan. Encouraged by her father, Shiori Niiyama explored various music genres early on, learning to play piano in elementary school and later the electric guitar in junior high. After high school, she honed her skills in guitar and vocals while busking in Shinjuku and Ohmiya. Her career kickstarted when she won the Grand Prix Treasure Hunt 2012 with her original song "Dakarasa" and a cover of Sheena Ringo's "Marunouchi Sadistic." Her major debut arrived in April 2013 with the release of the single "Yureru Yureru." The following year, her first studio album, Shiori, was released and later received a nomination for the 2015 CD Shop Awards. In 2016, Shiori Niiyama diversified her work by taking an acting role in the Japanese TV series Love Song and releasing her first digital single "Koi no Naka." By November of the same year, her third studio album, Finder no Mukou, peaked at Number 26 on the Japanese charts. Shiori Niiyama continued her performance journey, contributing a song to a commercial and releasing the single "Sayonara Watashi no Koigokoro," produced by Japanese singer-songwriter Chara. January 2018 saw the release of her compilation album, Shiori Goto: Best, which included all her released singles and promotional music video clips. After a brief hiatus from the music industry, she re-emerged in 2020 under the name ciii, releasing the song "Ano Bus ni Noranakucha." In 2023, she returned to her full-length album production with Nanimono ~Juunen Juushoku~ (何者 〜十年十色〜), reaching Number 66 on the Japanese Top 100 Albums chart.
