Irish indie rock band led by singer and guitarist Cian Godfrey, Somebody's Child was born in Dublin in 2018. Featuring Patrick Keegan and Shea Tohill on guitars, Jessie Ronan on bass and Dan Kearns on drums, the quintet made a name for themselves with a string of singles followed by the 20-Something EP in 2020. Alongside the two EPs released in 2021, Hope, Amongst Other Things and Staying Sane, the band stands out for its energetic stage presence and introspective, even dark lyrics. Signed to Frenchkiss Records, Somebody's Child produced a debut album of the same name, released in February 2023, which featured support slots for War on Drugs, Bloc Party and Kings of Leon. In 2024, the singles "Oh Emily" and "Time of My Life" preceded the release, the following year, of the album When Youth Fades Away, which reached No. 4 in the UK independent charts.
