Star Académie

A Canadian reality TV series first produced by Productions J (between 2003 and 2012) and then by Productions Déferlantes (from 2021), Star Académie is an adaptation of the French-language Star Academy, dedicated to discovering new musical talent. The first five seasons were broadcast by TVA, Canada's private French-language television network, in the winters of 2003, 2004, 2005, 2009 and 2012. For the last two editions, auditions are now held live, as part of the program Les Auditions de Star Académie. After crowning artists Wilfred Le Bouthillier (2003), Stéphanie Lapointe (2004), Marc-André Fortin (2005), Maxime Landry (2009) and Jean-Marc Couture (2012) as winners, the program disappeared from the television schedules. However, in 2019, it was announced that a new season would be recorded. It would start in 2021, with singer Lara Fabian as director and artists such as Ariane Moffatt, Anne Dorval and Xavier Dolan as main teachers. As with every year, the 2021 season is based on a theme song. Entitled "Maintenant et partout", it is written by Hubert Lenoir and Jérôme 50, and composed by Hubert Lenoir, Julyan, Marius Larue and Robert Robert.
