Stéphanie Lapointe is a Canadian singer and actress from Quebec. She sings in the French language and gained national fame for winning the TV series 'Star Academie' in 2004. Her performances on the show included an English language cover of Green Day's 'American Idiot'. She had various acting roles before 'Star Academie'. After her TV success she made her album debut with 'Sur le Fil' in 2005, an album of mainly ballads including the singles 'Nous Sommes' and 'La Mer'. Her next album was the 2009 release 'Donne-moi Quelque Chose Qui Ne Finit Pas', including a French version of Cher's hit 'Bang Bang' featuring her dreamy vocals. Her third album was 'Les Amours Paralleles' in 2014. Lapointe is also known for acting in the TV series 'La Negociateur' and the film 'Aurore' (2005) and for her work with humanitarian and environmental causes.
