Indian singer Sukriti Kakar was born in New Delhi on May 8, 1995, and is known for her breakout title track “Boss” from the 2013 Indian Hindi-language film of the same name. Influenced by her mother, a Hindustani classical singer and music teacher, Kakar and her two sisters, Akriti and Prakriti also gravitated towards the music industry, becoming singers in their own right. After the success of “Boss”, Kakar performed the title track to Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke (2013), followed by “Goti Song” from Nasha (2013). Her first major hit song however appeared in June 2015, with Kakar performing “Pheli Baar” from Dil Dhadakne Do, attracting over four million views online and earning her a nomination for Upcoming Female Vocalist at the 2015 Mirchi Music Awards. With her career taking off, Kakar performed on several soundtracks including "Jungli Peeke Tight Hai" from Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015), "Kar Gayi Chull" from Kapoor & Sons (2016) (featuring Indian singer rapper, Badshah) and "Maine Tujhko Dekha" from Golmaal Again. Developing a parallel career outside of her film work, Kakar performed on the Indian remix of American singer Dua Lipa’s single Levitating, as well as collaborating once more with Prakriti on several popular singles, including "Mafiyan" (2019) and "Majnu" (2021). In 2022, the two sisters recorded “Single Saiyaan” and “Dobara” in February and November respectively, collaborating once more with Badshah on “Kya Say?”, released in December that year.
