Tashannie

Tashannie (타샤니) was a South Korean female hip-hop duo that debuted on August 3, 1999, under the label World Music. The group consisted of Tasha (타샤), the main vocalist and rapper, and Annie (애니), the main rapper and vocalist. Tashannie gained attention with their unique blend of hip hop, funk, soul, and pop music, capturing the interest of both K-pop and hip-hop fans. Their debut album, Parallel Prophecys, was released in 1999 and featured a mix of smooth vocals, dynamic rap verses, and experimental sound that made them stand out in the late 90s South Korean music scene. However, despite the promise shown by their debut, Tashannie faced difficulties as their label went bankrupt, leading to the duo’s disbandment around 2002. In addition to their musical struggles, their official website was deleted, further complicating their ability to maintain a presence in the music industry. Though their career was short-lived, Tashannie left a mark in the early 2000s K-pop landscape, especially with their genre-blending sound.
