Son of Jacques Dutronc and Françoise Hardy, Thomas Dutronc was born in Paris on June 16, 1973. After learning the guitar and collaborating with gypsy jazz musicians (AJT Guitar Trio), he made a remarkable entry into the world of song with his debut album Comme Un Manouche Sans Guitare (No. 5, 2007), featuring the title track "J'aime plus Paris", followed by a major tour summarized in a live album recorded at Le Zénith in Paris. The following album Silence On Tourne, On Tourne en Rond (2011), in the gypsy jazz style he's so fond of, reached No.2 in the sales charts, and preceded Éternels Jusqu'à Demain (No.4, 2015), recorded in London and opening up to more pop-rock sounds. Its reissue includes a live recording from the Ferber studio(Live Manouche à Ferber). 2018 sees the release of his second live album, Live Is Love, in which the guitarist and singer is accompanied by Les Esprits Manouches. Back in the studio, Thomas Dutronc records his fourth album Frenchy (2020), with jazz musicians Rocky Gresset (guitar), Eric Legnini (piano), Thomas Bramerie (double bass) and Denis Benarrosh (drums). Consisting of French chanson and jazz standards, it included collaborations with Iggy Pop, Diana Krall, Billy Gibbons, Youn Sun Nah, Stacey Kent and Jeff Goldblum, and reached number two in the French charts. In 2022, he convinces his father to carry out an exceptional joint tour, accompanied by the studio album Dutronc & Dutronc (no. 7) and followed a year later by the live account La Tournée Générale (2023), featuring their many respective hits. His fifth album was recorded when his illustrious progenitor, Françoise Hardy, died on June 11, 2024, two months before the release of Il N'Est Jamais Trop Tard, which reached number 17 in the SNEP album chart in France.
