Trettmann

Trettmann (born October 9, 1973 in Karl-Marx-Stadt, now Chemnitz) is a hip-hop, R&B and dancehall singer from Germany. Born Stefan Richter, his musical roots lie in 1980s hip-hop and reggae. The singer started out as a comedy artist, satirizing the German reggae and dancehall scene with a Saxon accent. This is also the background for his debut single "Der Sommer Ist Für Alle Da!", which even reaches number 53 in the German charts in 2006. His mixtape Kaffee-Mix was released in the same year. He releases both productions under the artist name Ronny "RT" Trettmann. 2008 sees the release of another mixtape, Heckert Empire Mixtape (Trettmann meets Soulforce). Trettmann is now moving more and more away from being a pure comedy artist towards becoming a hip-hop singer. With Zwei Chlorbleiche Halunken (2010, together with Smo) and Tanz Auf Dem Vulkan (2013), two more albums are released. From 2016, the artist only releases his songs under the name Trettmann. The first Trettmann album is called #DIY (2017). The singer is no longer a stranger to the hip-hop and dancehall scene. As a result, Trettmann immediately reaches number 17 in the German charts and gold status. He also made it into the charts in Austria (27th place) and Switzerland (29th place). The singles "Knöcheltief", "Grauer Beton " and "GottSeiDank" become hits. In 2018, Trettmann, together with KitschKrieg, Gringo, Ufo361 and Gzuz, achieved number 1 success in the German singles charts with the song "Standard". A year later, the singer releases the self-titled album Trettmann with the support of KitschKrieg and SFR. The artist made it to number 2 in the German charts. It then took until 2023 before the fifth album Insomnia (together with KitschKrieg and SFR) was released. Trettmann lands another top 10 hit in the German-speaking world. The EP Your Love Is King is released in March 2024. The record climbs to number 25 in Germany.
