Leader since 2004 of the successful rock band Balthazar, Belgian Maarten Devoldere unveils a different musical facet in 2016 with his Warhaus project. With the support of a four-piece band, he presents this dark alter-ego. Warhaus draws on Lou Reed, David Bowie and Nick Cave to deliver a tormented rock sound. Begun in May 2016 with the song "The Good Lie", the adventure reached its first peak with the September release of the album We Fucked a Flame into Being. Critical and commercial success was immediate in Belgium, and soon spread to France.
