Yvonne Catterfeld was born on December 2, 1979 in the Thuringian capital of Erfurt. As a teenager, the future singer came into contact with various training courses that prepared her for the life of a stage performer. Following a talent competition on public television, she is signed to a recording contract with Hansa Records. Her first single, "Bum" , was released in 2001. Catterfeld's commercial breakthrough also came in 2001: "Komm zurück zu mir" reached number 76 in the German singles charts and immediately heralded her debut album Meine Welt (2003). The platinum record went straight to number 1 in the German LP charts, but was also successful with top 5 placings in Austria and Switzerland. The following year, the artist, whose music oscillates between songwriting poetry and German pop, confirms her early standing with Farben meiner Welt. The second album reached number 2 in Germany, with top 10 entries in Austria and Switzerland. Her third album Unterwegs, whose single "Glaub an mich" reached number 3 on the German single hit list, became the second number 1 long player in Catterfeld's young career. in 2006, "Remind me to forget you" heralded the studio album Aura, released in the same year - the next top 10 album by the soulful singer, who also took on various acting roles between 2007 and 2009, including in Keinohrhasen (2007) and Das Geheimnis des Königssees (2008). Musically, the multi-talented singer returned in 2010: Blau im Blau, now her fifth studio opus, entered the German charts just like its title track. After Lieber so, which made it back into the top 10 of the German album charts in 2013, Catterfeld successfully took part in the TV show Sing meinen Song in 2015. The resulting final duet "Hey " (feat. Andreas Bourani) subsequently made it to number 17 in the German singles charts. With Guten Morgen Freiheit, Catterfeld presents her first album in 13 years in 2017, which returns to the top 10 regions of the LP charts in the entire DACH region. in 2021, Catterfeld shines on Change with an English-language long player, which enters at number 65 in Germany.
