Rapper, songwriter and dancer Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael (born on December 19, 1994 in Ekiti State, Nigeria) aka Afrobeats star Zlatan Ibile rose to fame after winning the 2014 Airtel-sponsored One Mic talent show in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Three years later, he kickstarted a fruitful career in the Nigerian music industry with the Olamide-featuring track "My Body," which paved the way for a deal with Alleluyah Boiz Entertainment. 2018 proved a stellar year for Zlatan who released four singles, including a breakout track with Chinko Ekun and Lil Kesh, "Able God," "Jogor," also featuring Lil Kesh with Naira Marley and "Osanle" featuring Davido. He took his career to the next level in 2019 with a feature on "Killin Dem" from Nigerian superstar Burna Boy's fourth album African Giant and the release of his debut album, Zanku, which inspired the viral zanku phenomenon: a sound and dance routine with the dance gaining a co-sign from Beyoncé in her "Already" collaboration with Ghanaian star Shatta Wale. 2020 saw the launch of Zlatan's Zanku Records, signing up Papisnoop, Oberz and Jamopyper to his roster and releasing the "Unripe Pawpaw" single with those three artists that year. In 2021, Zlatan dropped two new singles: "Alubarika" featuring Buju and "Ale Yi." Zlatan's career has been rocked by fraud allegations, with the artist arrested in May 2019 by Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with an alleged case of internet fraud and money laundering.
