Formed in 2002 by brothers Phil and Dan Brookes, London, England-based drum & bass and liquid funk duo the Brookes Brothers revealed themselves to be a unique production team, infusing their drum & bass recordings with soul and disco influences. Their first release was “Blue Light”, a 2005 collaboration with Danny Wheeler. Their first release on their own was the single “Someone” in 2006. That same year, they released the single “Portal” on Danny Wheeler’s W10 Records label. They continued to release a series of singles under their own name as well as well-received collaborations with other artists including Culture Shock and J Majik & Wickaman. The Brookes Brothers released their debut self-titled album in 2011. Their 2013 single “Carry Me On” (featuring Chrom3) became a radio hit, climbing to the Number 7 spot on the UK’s independent chart. The duo’s second album, Orange Lane, was released in 2017 and included the singles “Climb High” (featuring Danny Bird) and “The One” (featuring ShockOne). The duo continued to release a series of club favorites including “Every Minute” (2018), “Good Thing” (2019) and 2020’s “Burn” (with Kove featuring Kathy Brown) and “Make No Sound” (featuring Liam Bailey).
