Kool Savas

Kool Savas (born February 10, 1975 in Aachen) is a singer and rapper from Germany. Born Savaş Yurderi, he has been a major figure in the Berlin hip-hop scene since the mid-1990s. It was not until 2001 that Kool Savas, with the support of R&B singer Valezka, made his first chart entry with the EP Haus & Boot. In 2002, Kool Savas' debut album Der Beste Tag Meines Lebens is released. The longplayer made it into the top 10 of the German charts at number 6. Album number 2, Tot Oder Lebendig, followed in 2007, before Kool Savas achieved his first number 1 ranking in Germany and Switzerland with his third album, Aura, in 2011. One year later, Kool Savas recorded the album Gespaltene Persönlichkeit together with Xavier Naidoo. The album climbed to number 1 in the charts in Germany and Switzerland. The other solo albums Märtyrer (2014), KKS (2019) and Aghori (2021) also all made it to number 1 in Germany. Together with Sido, he also achieved a number 1 ranking in Germany and Austria with the album Royal Bunker in 2017. Kool Savas' best-known songs include "Till' Ab Joe", "Die Besten Tage Sind Gezählt", "Monstershit", "All 4 One", "Aura", "Schau Nicht Mehr Zurück", "Deine Mutter", "High" and "Dicka Was". Kool Savas not only celebrates success as a solo artist, but also regularly releases songs together with other singers. Kool Savas has worked with Eko Fresh, Azad, Curse, Prinz Pi, Cassandra Steen, Moses Pelham, Tim Bendzko and Sido, among others. Kool Savas wins the scene prize, the Hiphop.de Awards, several times for his music. In 2023, Kool Savas releases a live album with Red Bull Symphonic. On it, the artist interprets classical rap songs together with a symphony orchestra. The album climbs to number 4 in Germany and also reaches the top 30 in Austria and Switzerland. In August 2024, Kool Savas releases the EP Rap Genius. The rapper reaches number 4 in the German charts. In Austria, the EP enters at number 65.
