Born on November 7, 2001 in Meaux (Seine-et-Marne), Ryad Kartoum goes by the stage name of RK, made up of his initials. He began rapping at the age of 12, putting aside his ambitions to become a professional footballer. He came to the attention of the general public when Sofiane covered his first song, "1re mi-temps #RiyadMahrez", on Skyrock's Planète rap program. From then on, the public took an interest in the young artist and his freestyle rap. Pending the release of a debut album in summer 2018, he founded his own label, 3.5.7. Music, hosted by Universal. His album, entitled Insolent, reaches number one in France. It precedes a second opus, Rêves de Gosse (2019), by just six months. A prolific rapper, Neverland was released in 2020, containing "Euros" (#13 in France), recorded with Maes, "Diva" (#78) with SCH and "Rock n Puff" (#123) featuring Leto. A deluxe edition of this album follows at the end of that year, with three new tracks: "GP 800", "Kenzo " and "God Bless ". Maintaining a steady rate of releases, in 2021 he releases a new studio album, 100 Rancunes, which includes the tracks "Menotté" (no. 95) recorded with Landy and "Petit cœur" (no. 65) on which he reunites with Maes. In 2022, RK releases his fifth studio album, Mentalité (Part. 1) , which reaches No. 7 in France and features duets with Koba LaD and Guy2Bezbar & Mig. At 21, he becomes the youngest French rapper to win four gold discs. In 2023, he made a name for himself by collaborating with Kerchak on the Du Nord au Sud mixtape , which brought together a number of artists at the initiative of Foot Korner. The following year, he resumed his discography with a new studio album entitled DLPDA, promoted by the title track.
