The J-pop dance & vocal group RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE was founded in 2014 by mega-producer Hiroyuki "Exile Hiro" Igarashi. An offshoot of the renowned EXILE TRIBE collective, the group debuted with 16 multi-talented members selected through the competitions Vocal Battle Audition 4, Exile Performer Battle Audition, and Global Japan Challenge. Gaining momentum swiftly, their inaugural single, "Lightning," released in 2017, charted at number 2 on the Oricon Singles Chart. However, it was their debut album, THE RAMPAGE, that cemented their place in the J-pop landscape. The album, released in 2018, not only reached number 2 on the Oricon Albums Chart but also exhibited their versatile musicality, ranging from dance-pop to R&B. Over the following years, the group continued to wow audiences across Japan and all over the world with releases such as The Riot (2019), Reboot (2021), and Ray of Light (2022), all of which landed on the Top 5 of the Japanese Albums Chart. In 2023, the EDM-infused single "16Boosterz" peaked at number 2 on both the Oricon Singles Chart and the Billboard Japan Hot 100. The single was included in the group's 2024 album 16Soul, which rose to number 2 on the Oricon Albums Chart in Japan. 16Pray, 16Soul's companion piece, was released simultaneously and landed in the Japanese Top 5.
