The RockTigers

The RockTigers, a South Korean rock and roll band, were active from 2001 to 2013 and stood out in the Korean indie scene with their unique blend of 1940s-1950s jump blues, boogie-woogie, and rockabilly. They branded their style as "kimchibilly," a term coined by a foreign fan to reflect their distinct Korean twist on classic rockabilly, referencing Korea's iconic dish, kimchi. Known for their energetic live performances, The RockTigers cultivated a dedicated following, especially among expats and tourists in Seoul’s Hongdae club scene. The band's lineup featured Velvet Geena on vocals, Tiger on guitar, Roy on double bass, and Eddie Tarantula on guitar. Their discography includes several studio albums, starting with Come On Let's Go in 2003, followed by Oldies But Goodies (2007), Taste The Kimchibilly (2008), and Rock 'N' Roll Licence (2010). They also released Rockabilly Coaster in Japan in 2010 and Electric Travel in 2011. Their final album, Shut Up and Deal, came out in 2013, marking the end of their musical journey.
