The Japanese singer, actor, and television personality Yusuke Kamiji was born on April 18, 1979, in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. As a child, he harbored ambitions of becoming a professional baseball player but an injury to his right elbow during high school made him turn to acting instead. He made his official debut on the show LXIXVXE in 1999 and then went on to star in several dramas and movies. After making his big break on the variety program Quiz Hexagon II, Yusuke formed the short-lived music trio Shuchishin, which performed live on the show on a regular basis. Following the group's dissolution, he began releasing music under the name Yusuke in 2009 and entered the Japanese charts for the first time with the singles "Himawari," "Tanpopo/Kaizokusen/Sono Kobushi," and "Ichō." A full-length titled Ano.. Konnan Dekimashita Kedo saw the light later that year, followed by Ano.. Yume Motemasu Kedo (2011), Ano.. Namida ga Aru kara Ai ga Arun Desu Kedo (2012), and Ano.. Omatsuri Desu Kedo (2012). Yusuke put his music career on hold shortly after the release of his fifth album Ano.. Deatchatterun Desu Kedo in 2013, but returned in 2021 with the single "Komugi." Only a year later, his sixth LP Are 遊Ready? reached Number 17 on the Oricon Albums Chart.
