Born in Belfast, Ireland on November 15, 1991, Benjamin William Hastings is a contemporary Christian singer-songwriter and a worship leader. Raised in Belfast, he moved to Australia in his 20s and settled down with his new wife. While living there, he started hanging out with his wife’s old friends, who just happened to be members of popular worship group Hillsong United. He began to collaborate with the group, making his lead vocal debut on their single “So Will I (100 Billion X).” He became an in-demand songwriter and penned tracks for Hillsong United, Hillsong Worship, Cory Asbury, Brandon Lake, and others. His songs have been streamed over 500 million times on different social media platforms. After releasing several solo singles – including “Homeward” (2021), “From Seed to Sequoia” (2021), “The Jesus I Know” (2022), “Anyway” (2022), “So Help Me God” (2022), and “Eden (Isn’t It Just Like You)” (2022) – he issued his debut digital album, Benjamin Williams Hastings (2022), which featured 25 worship songs. The following year, he released and expanded edition of this digital album which contained 25 additional songs. He issued another version of the album that contained an additional 14 tracks including acoustic and live versions. Capitalizing in his 2023 success, he issued the live album Songs You Maybe Didn’t Know I Wrote and Some You Maybe Did. a collection of songs that he had written for other artists. Benjamin William Hastings relocated to Los Angeles, California with his wife and kids and continued writing and recording material. In 2024, he released the digital single “Abandoned,” which featured live and studio versions of the title track.
