Born Michaja Nicolaï on 7 March 1996, the Dutch singer, songwriter and actor known professionally as Mia Nicolai rose to fame after representing the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 alongside Dion Cooper with the song "Burning Daylight." She debuted in 2018 with a cover of Glenn Miller's "At Last" and in 2020 released "Set Me Free" and "Mutual Needs," with the latter single catching the attention of famed radio DJ Zane Lowe. Two more singles arrived in 2021, "People Pleaser" and "Dream Go," and in 2022 she was announced as the next Eurovision entrant. She reached number 28 in the Dutch Top 40 with "Burning Daylight."
