Daniel Oswaldo Donlucas Martinez, widely known as Yng Lvcas, is a Mexican rapper, singer, and songwriter born on October 24, 1999, in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Hailing from a humble background, Yng Lvcas’s affinity for the arts was evident early on. As a child, he was drawn to theatre, music, and dance, and during his teenage years, he listened to rock bands like Led Zeppelin and experimented with singing and music production. Yng Lvcas began producing music and videos at the age of 15 after his mother gifted him a microphone and he acquired an audio interface. Inspired by artists such as T-Pain, Jay-Z, and Busta Rhymes, he worked diligently to hone his own musical style. In 2020, he began publishing his music online, and in 2021, he independently released his debut mixtape Wup? Mixtape, a self-produced collection of Sierreño music and corridos. The same year, he released a second mixtape titled LPM, showcasing his versatility by incorporating elements from Latin trap and reggaeton. This album included the sleeper hit "La Bebé," which gained international acclaim in 2023 after going viral on social media. This led to Yng Lvcas signing with Warner Music in March 2023, and releasing a remix of "La Bebé" featuring Regional Mexican singer Peso Pluma. The remix reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, making him one of the highest-charting Mexican artists in the chart’s history. Preceded by the single "Wazap" featuring Justin Quiles, his EP Six Jewels 23 also came out in 2023 and peaked at number 92 on the Billboard 200. Later that year, Yng Lvcas delivered his studio debut Super Estrellas, a collection of mostly reggaeton tracks featuring guest spots by El Bogueto, Ice Keed, El Malilla, and Uzielito Mix.
